Dear Leakey ISD Community,

I'm Chris Yeschke, and I'm privileged to serve as your Superintendent. Since July 2018, I've been committed to the success of Leakey ISD, bringing with me nineteen years of experience in school administration, of which seven and a half years are serving as a superintendent.

What I value most about Leakey is the strong sense of community. The support everyone shows each other – our students, staff, and parents – is truly inspiring.

When I'm not focused on the district, I enjoy being outdoors. We're fortunate to live in such a beautiful area, and I appreciate the opportunities for recreation. I also find relaxation and creativity in beekeeping and woodworking.

My wife, Valerie, is a teacher, and we have two children. Our oldest, a Leakey graduate, earned a degree in graphic arts from West Texas A&M University. Our youngest recently graduated from Leakey and is now in his second semester studying commercial aviation at college. We're incredibly proud of both of them.

It's an honor to be part of the Leakey community. I'm dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where every student can flourish. My door is always open – please feel free to share your ideas, concerns, or feedback.

Dear Leakey ISD Families, Students, and Community Members,

As your principal, I truly feel blessed to be able to live in such a beautiful area and serve this vibrant community.  I just completed my 20th year in education, with six of those being in administration.  My husband and I have been married for 10 years and have a combined family with five children. Our youngest two children are LISD alumni.  We have loved making Real County our home these past few years and look forward to many more. 

At LISD our dedicated team of educators is passionate about delivering high-quality instruction that meets the diverse needs of our students. We continuously strive for academic excellence through innovative teaching practices, a robust curriculum, and comprehensive support services. Our goal is to ensure that every student reaches their full potential and is well-prepared for future success.

Furthermore, we recognize the importance of a strong partnership between home, school, and the broader community. Parental involvement and community engagement are critical to our students' success. We encourage you to participate in school events, join our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), join our Athletic Booster Club and stay connected through our various communication channels.
