Application for a Ballot by Mail
To be eligible to vote early by mail in Texas, you must:
- be 65 years or older;
- be disabled;
- be out of the county on election day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance; or
- be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.
Instructions for applying for Ballot by Mail (“ABBM”):
- Complete and print the ABBM form attached OR submit a request by email to ABBM@Leakeyisd.net and an ABBM will be mailed to you.
- Complete Sections 1 through 8.
- Sign and Date Section 9.
- If someone helped you complete the application or mailed the application for you, that person must complete Sections 11a through 11c.
- Affix postage.
- Address and mail the completed ABBM to the Early Voting Clerk. You may also fax the application to 830.232.5535. You also have the option of submitting a scanned copy of the completed and signed application to the Early Voting Clerk via email to ABBM@Leakeyisd.net. If an ABBM is faxed or emailed, then the original, hard copy of the application MUST be mailed and received by the early voting clerk no later than the 4th business day.

April 23, 2024 last day to apply for ballot by mail (received, not postmarked) April 30, 2024 early voting in person ends
Election Day – Saturday, May 4, 2024 Last day to receive ballot by mail at 7:00 p.m. if carrier envelope is not postmarked, OR Monday, May 6, 2024 (next business day after Election Day) at 5:00 p.m. if carrier envelope is postmarked by 7:00 p.m. at the location of the election on Election Day (unless overseas or military voter deadlines apply)4
