Hi there! It's nice to see you! My name is Melanie Kring.
Thank you for dropping in to learn more about me and what I do here at Leakey ISD.
After graduating high school in Uvalde, I joined the Air Force where I proudly served 8 years as a Communications and Navigations System Specialist and within my last year, as Safety, Security and Mobility Manager for my flight.
After the service I began working in the administrative field in the private sector, while earning my degree. I graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management & Organizational Communication. Later, I received my alternative teaching certification and became a teacher with certifications in Special Education (EC-12), Generalist (4-8), Math (4-8), and Technology Education (6-12).
I taught in Harlingen, Texas for 8 years before relocating back to the hill country, where I took off a year from teaching, before joining Leakey ISD.
What do I do here at LISD? Well, I began as the Career & Technology teacher and have transitioned to be the Special Education Coordinator for the district. I also teach Math, and I am the Campus-Based Military Liaison.
