Welcome to Mrs. Rimkus' Web Page! The assignments will be listed here and emailed out to parents each week.  Please text or email me a picture of the completed assignment. If you don't want to print them, the student can use a sheet of notebook paper to answer the questions. Just be sure that they title each sheet. We will use this format until further notice.

3rd Grade - May 11-15
This is the last week to give new assignments and I am only giving the kids ONE thing to do. 
 
The final activity for the year is a writing assignment.
Each year on the last day of school I have my students write a letter to themselves.  I know that sounds strange but they are writing a letter to themselves to be read when they are 18 years old.  I will keep the letters safe and return the letters to them when they graduate high school.  I have had the great pleasure of returning letters to past and present seniors and they always love reading them.
 
Here are the requirements for the assignment:
 
Write a letter in your best handwriting (THIS MUST BE IN THEIR OWN HANDWRITING - they love seeing their own handwriting when they are 18) to yourself.
The letter needs to include things they did in school this year - they should definitely put how they felt about this virus cancelling their school year. 
The letter also needs to include what they want to be when they grow up and why they want to be that. 
If they want to include anything else please do so. 
There is no length requirement and parents can help them with their spelling. 
 
To make this letter really special I need the original copy.  You can mail their letter to me or drop it off at school on Friday, May 15 between 12:00 and 4:00 in the tub with the correct grade level on it at the south end of the elementary building.

I have letters for this year's seniors and I can't wait to give them back and see their faces. 
 
I will be using the rest of this week and next to go over all turned in assignments.  If I find any missing assignments I will let each student know exactly what they are missing and they will have an opportunity to get caught up before I submit final grades.
