Christmas Holiday Schedule

Friday, December 18th will be an “early release day” at 2:30 p.m.

for all students. The buses will run their regular schedule starting at

2:30 p.m. School will resume on Monday, January 4th, 2016.

DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

DURING 2007-2008 SCHOOL YEAR

CLUSTER V SPECIAL EDUCATION CO-OP

(Serving Brackett ISD, D’Hanis ISD, Knippa ISD, Leakey ISD, Nueces Canyon CISD, Sabinal ISD, and Utopia ISD)

If you are a former student or a parent of a former student that was served by Cluster V Special Education Co-op, you are entitled to receive a copy of your or your child’s records maintained by our office.

Federal law requires a school district to maintain these records for a period of at least seven years beyond the last date of enrollment in special education. Therefore, records maintained by the Cluster V Special Education Co-op for students last enrolled in special education during or prior to the 2007-2008 school year are scheduled for destruction. If you anticipate a need for services through any Texas state agency such as social security, Texas Rehabilitation Commission, or the Texas Department of Mental Health/Mental Retardation, your special education records could be of some assistance. If you would like to obtain a copy of these records, please contact Cluster V Special Education Co-op no later than December 15, 2015 at 830-988-2341 or mail request to P.O. Box 577, Sabinal, Texas 78881.

Si usted es un estudiante pasado o padre de un estudiante pasado quien fue servido por el Cluster V Educación Especial Co-op, usted tiene el derecho de recibir una copia de sus documentos o los documentos de su niño/niña guardado por el Departamento de educación especial.

Le ley federal requiere que el distrito escolar mantenga éstos documentos por el tiempo de siete ańos después del último ańo de matricula en educación especial. Veterans Day Program

Veterans Day Program

Leakey ISD will host the Veterans Day program on Wednesday, November 11 at 10 am. The program will take place in the Lloyd Buttler Gymnasium. Veterans, please come to the cafeteria at 9:25 am to sign in and enjoy refreshments. The community is welcome to attend. The National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society have worked hard to organize this event with Alexis Webb as chairperson. There will be performances by the Leakey ISD choir and state qualifying band. There will also be a guest speaker and names of the Veteran’s attending will be called out as well. Veterans will have reserved areas to park next to the gym and behind the cafeteria. This year, the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society officers are as follows; Debra Odom, President, Sofia Rodriguez, Vice President, Alexis Webb, Secretary, and Chase Reagor, Treasurer.
